Putin says Russia able to maintain stable economic situation
MOSCOW, May 25 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has managed to stabilize the budget with a floating ruble rate and will be able to keep a stable economic situation in the future, President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday at a meeting with representatives of French business circles.
“We have kept a stable state of the Russian economy and I’m sure we will be able to do this in the future. After the Central Bank of Russia introduced a floating ruble rate we managed to stabilize state finances. We are carrying out a well-weighted budget policy paying attention first of all to macroeconomic stability,” he said.
Macroeconomic figures, including gross domestic product (GDP), are improving, Putin said.
